Spirometry is a breathing test. It does not hurt and does not involve needles; the patient breathes into a device as instructed.

When should I see a pulmonologist for cough?

If cough persists for several weeks, appears at night, comes with shortness of breath, wheezing, repeated fever, or blood in sputum, medical evaluation is recommended.

What symptoms suggest sleep apnea?

Loud snoring, breathing pauses noticed by a partner, daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, and persistent fatigue may suggest sleep apnea.
